Sushi comes to Arundel

Sushi on a table

The Steakist, Arundel, launches ‘Japas’ – sushi and Japanese small plates served tapas style every Thursday evening.

The Steakist (www.thesteakist.co.uk) has launched a New ‘Japas’ night – sushi and other Japanese inspired small plates served tapas style.

General Manager, Hollie Wride, who recently won Arun District’s Business person of the year award, said “There aren’t any other restaurants serving freshly made sushi in the Arundel area so wanted to fill that gap. We are sourcing the sushi from our friends at Little Fish ( www.little-fish.co.uk ), who prepare it for us on the day and deliver just before we open. The rest of the dishes are prepared by our own kitchen team.

There’s a selection of dishes on offer including Seafood and Vegetarian Maki, Katsu Chicken Maki, Nigiri, Sashimi, Satay Chicken and Tempura Prawns and Chicken, Pork or Vegetable Gyoza with a selection of desserts including Mochi balls.”

The Japas evenings, which are every Thursday evening between 5pm -9 pm, have got off to a great start. “It seems to be really appealing to couples and to women catching up with friends. There are a lot of cocktails going out with the food. We serve the tapas style so its a very relaxed vibe!

We’ve had some great feedback from our first 2 evenings.” added Hollie.
